Interlaken is located right in the center of Switzerland, between the Thun (German: Thunersee) and Brienz (German: Brienzersee) lakes. The name of this fabulous town can be translated as "between the lakes". Crystal-clear mountain streams, rattling waterfalls, impetuous rivers and deep blue lakes are the integral part of Interlaken as well as its suburbs. Local climate can be described as subalpine, mild, there are almost no fogs, splitting winds or drastic changes in temperatures here. All this is explained by the resort's unique nature peculiarities such as deciduous and coniferous forests that surround the town and the proximity of mountain glaciers. People from all over the world come here to recover their health and immunity system, cure their body after stresses and gain harmony of body and soul.

Truly boundless opportunities for active rest are found in Interlaken. Those are mountain walks either on foot or by mountain bicycles, horseriding, tennis, windsurfing, rafting, paragliding as well as hang-gliding. At the same time, it is an excellent place for those who long for silence and calmness, while the youth and those who are still young in their mind and soul can have fun at the discos and in nightclubs. For instance, the «Kursаal» entertaining centre, with its history going back to 1859, offers you to visit its concerts, theatre performances and casino.

Moreover, the town has a convenient location thanks to which you can make everyday trips to other cities such as Bern and Zurich. That will be an easily done entertainment for you.

Now there is a list of things that every tourist should definitely visit when coming to Interlaken.

The first is, captivating horse trips around the city.

There are also several attractions in the city that one can visit, including Jungfrau tourism museum (which occupies the restored XVII century house) and the Train museum with more than 40 miniature train models that go along 430 metres of permanent way.

Motor ship cruises over Thun and Brienz lakes are definitely a must. The water is rather cold here - however, the beauty of local nature is just indescribable.

You can also try a train rise on the Jungfrau mountain and a funicular railway lift from the Interlaken Ost to the Harder Kulm station. The latter will give you a chance to walk along the wildlife Alpine park and enjoy a stunning view over Interlaken.

The «Mystery Park» complex has 7 halls with panoramic cinema halls, several attractions, inspection area, a playing ground for the kids, restaurants and shops.

And, finally, the best way to get to Interlaken is to go to Zurich or Geneva by airplane and then make a train trip to the town.
